Why we avoid page builders — after 13 years of WordPress

On every project we take on, we ask the client one question: do you want speed now, or stability long-term? The answer is almost always the latter. Yet clients keep coming to us with sites built on page builders, complaining of the same symptoms: slow load times, hard-to-maintain markup, broken updates, and lost content when switching builders.

The real problem

A page builder isn't a theme — it's an entire layer on top of WordPress that holds your content in its own format. Migrating or upgrading requires an importer, and importers rarely work 100%.

The alternative

We write templates in native PHP, and reach for custom Gutenberg blocks when they fit. The result: speed, full control, and a site that can be upgraded for a decade.
